Default Faction Vs Fractions

Why people keep typing fraction instead of faction? did american keyboard have the "f" and "r" tied up?

Yes.
The R button is very close to F.

Many people probably type fraction much more than faction in every day typing, and their fingers haven't learned yet.

Many people are damn near illiterate, and oddly proud of it.

Wow, kinda surprised a thread was made for this. I mean really a minor mistake of a letter from F-A-C-T-I-O-N to F-R-A-C-T-I-O-N.

Because it increases the number of characters you can have by 1/2?

GW is riddled with people who can't spell... at all. I guess it's part of the package on a game you don't have to pay for monthly.

A good one i noticed a month or so back was a few people (in Euro districts at least) call smiting "smithing"? Then before you know it, everyone typing in allchat is typing smiting as smithing. What, is illiteracy CONTAGIOUS now?
Then to top it off, the second you mention anything about it being spelled "smiting" in allchat you get told YOU'RE the idiot? *sigh*

Have you ever played a game that does have a monthly fee? There are just as many imbeciles there as here.

Yeah, whats paying for GW got to do with the spelling/typing skills of its players?

and to my knowledge I've never typed "Fractions" instead of "Factions".

I've not seen many spelling mistakes that I couldn't work out when playing GW. Most amusing I've seen is probably:

"WTS FEELBLADE!"

It never occured to you that we might all be right, that 'Fractions' may exist and is ANet's MMORPG answer to 'Mario Teaches Math'?

Well that's true, but there's a difference. I assume for my own peace of mind that the majority of morons on GW are people who get the game off their parents and play it because it's free. It's worrying though that a large portion of them could be working people (or people with too much money) who are just plain stupid/assholes.

I also play EVE as well. And while not as many, there are still idiots around.

It's Drok's, not Dorks.
